Canal Winchester Labor Day Parade Celebrates Educators

This year’s Canal Winchester Labor Day Parade will recognize Canal Winchester Schools teachers by celebrating the work these everyday superheroes do for the children of the community.
The parade theme will recognize CW Schools teachers by celebrating the work these everyday superheroes do for the children of the community. This year’s Labor Day Parade will take place on Monday, September 4, 2023, at 1 p.m. Other school groups will also participate with floats and marchers in the parade.
“Labor Day is all about celebrating the American worker, and we couldn’t think of a more honorable grand marshal than the Canal Winchester Local School District educators,” said Marie Gibbons, Parade Chair for the Labor Day Festival.
The Labor Day committee selected the “Superheroes” theme and invited the CW Schools staff to be part of the celebration.
“We are so thankful to the parade committee for recognizing the labor of the teachers who are here to make a difference in the lives of Canal Winchester students,” said CW Schools Superintendent Kiya Hunt. “When prospective employees ask us about the district, we always tell them how lucky we are to have an incredible and supportive community. This is yet another example of the strength of our community when we all come together to make Canal Winchester a great place to live, learn, and work.”
