CHECK HERE for a QUICK GUIDE on sending your student to school
CW Families,
While we understand that the symptoms of a COVID-19 infection are similar to those of other conditions, our staff must follow the guidelines in which to send a child home for potential COVID-19 symptoms. If you take your child to a clinic to be evaluated, and that doctor determines your child’s condition is due to something other than COVID-19, you may submit an official alternative diagnosis. For example if a child is sent home for a runny nose, a note from a physician (rather than a test) can be provided explaining why the child has a runny nose (example, allergies.)
If a doctor provides you with an alternative diagnosis for your child’s condition, please provide the following information to your school clinic:
- Your child’s name
- The condition causing the symptoms
- How long the symptoms can be expected to continue
- The date of the examination.
- Signature of doctor
Clear documentation is needed from a physician that your student has symptoms not related to COVID-19. Please help us to keep your child in school, and at the same time helping us keep everyone in our school community safe.
Thank you,
Mike Bruning, Director of Operations
