CW Online Academy

The CW Online Academy is a fully remote learning option for Canal Winchester residents in grades 7-12. This program allows students to complete coursework from home using an online curriculum designed specifically for virtual instruction. While students learn independently, they have access to dedicated CW teachers for academic support and may schedule in-person assistance as needed.

Please keep in mind that in order to be successful in an online school, students and parents/guardians must understand the following:

• Online classes are a convenient alternative to traditional classes, but not an easier alternative.
• Online courses by their nature involve a large amount of reading and independent analysis.
• Students must be willing to ask their teachers for help when they don’t understand.
• Students need to be self-motivated and self-disciplined to stay on track. If a typical student day in a traditional setting is 6.5 hours, students should be aware that a comparable amount of time will be spent working on online classes.
