Dear Canal Winchester Schools Community,

Every day across Canal Winchester Schools, our students are learning, growing, discovering new opportunities, and preparing for what comes next. Behind each of those experiences are people who believe in them and are committed to helping them succeed.

Our theme for the 2026-2027 school year is ROCK ON! Make It Legendary. While we’re having some fun with the music behind the theme, its real meaning is in those last three words.

Everyone in our district has an “IT.” For a teacher, it might be helping a student master something they’ve struggled to understand. For a bus driver, it might be making sure students start and end their school day with a familiar face. Across our schools, our staff members bring different skills, responsibilities, and talents to their work. What they share is the opportunity to make that work matter for students.

The same is true for our families and community. You are an important part of what happens in Canal Winchester Schools. You support students at home, volunteer in our buildings, fill the stands and auditoriums, partner with our staff, and show our students that their community is invested in their success.

That’s what Make It Legendary means to me.

It isn’t about recognition or doing something remarkable every day. Years from now, our students won’t remember every lesson, every assignment, or every school day. They will remember the people who believed in them. They’ll remember who encouraged them when something was hard, who noticed when they needed help, and who gave them opportunities to discover what they could do.

That is the work happening every day at Canal Winchester Schools, and I am proud to be part of it.

As Superintendent, I remain committed to making sure our schools are places where students are supported, challenged, and given the opportunities they need to be successful. I’m grateful to our staff for the work they do and to our families and community for the trust and partnership they continue to give our schools.
