Canal Winchester Names Rob Page as Next Head Football Coach
Canal Winchester High School has selected a coach with a proven track record of building winning programs as its next head football coach, pending board approval.
The Board of Education will vote on a recommendation to hire Rob Page as Canal Winchester's next head Varsity Football Coach at its May 12 regular meeting.
"We're excited to welcome Coach Rob Page to Canal Winchester and confident in his vision for the future of our football program," said Director of Athletics Jacob Ramsey. "Coach Page's love for the game is matched by his commitment to developing players, setting clear expectations, and putting students at the center of our program. He understands the importance of aligning our high school, middle school, and youth football efforts to create consistency and long-term success."
Coach Page's coaching career began in 2005 as a graduate assistant at the collegiate level and includes multiple head coaching stints, most recently at Big Walnut High School, where he had a winning record of 27-9 from 2019-2023. During his tenure, he was named the 2021 Delaware Coach of the Year, Ohio Capital Conference Coach of the Year, Central District Coach of the Year, and Division II Ohio Coach of the Year.
He led the program at Milan High School from 2014-2016 and Reading High School from 2016-2017, where he earned the title of 2018 Division IV Southwest Ohio Coach of the Year.
“I’m honored to join the Canal Winchester community and lead a program with so much potential,” said Coach Page. “Establishing a winning culture starts with setting high standards, building trust, and creating an environment where players are challenged to grow every day. I’m excited to get to work, build relationships at every level of the program, and help create something the entire community can be proud of.”
Currently, Coach Page is the offensive coordinator at Upper Arlington High School and a social studies teacher at Big Walnut High School. He holds a bachelor's degree in History with a minor in Education from Wittenberg University and a master's degree in Athletic Administration from Ohio University.
Coach Page was selected in a hiring process that included player and parent surveys and an interview team of players, parents, assistant coaches, and district leaders. Coach Page's success in building programs and developing depth stood out in the process, said Mr. Ramsey. His coaching philosophy centers on building a player-focused, winning football program grounded in core values: Tough, Smart, and Unified.
The Canal Winchester Board of Education is scheduled to vote on the recommendation to hire Rob Page as the district's next head varsity football coach at its next meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, May 12, at the Education Center, 100 Washington Street, Canal Winchester.
