Canal Winchester High School Announces 2026 Hall of Fame Inductees

Canal Winchester High School will induct four new members into its Athletic Hall of Fame at the Indians’ first home football game on Friday, September 4, 2026.

Alumni Darren Davis, Lonzell Fegin, and Brady Snyder will be inducted into the Hall of Fame along with Award of Merit recipient Kim Wirthman. Each year, inductees are selected by the Canal Winchester High School Athletic Hall of Fame Committee.

The September 4 Hall of Fame induction festivities begin with a banquet, followed by recognition during halftime of the Canal Winchester football game. Canal Winchester kicks off against Worthington Kilbourne High School at Mike Locke Stadium at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 4.

Darren Davis, Class of 2019

Growing up in Canal Winchester, Darren Davis developed a passion for football that quickly became a defining part of his high school experience. From 2015 to 2019, he proudly represented Canal Winchester High School on the football field, earning a reputation as a relentless competitor, dedicated teammate, and respected leader.

Throughout his career, Darren's hard work and commitment to excellence earned him numerous honors, including OCC Player of the Year, Central District Defensive Player of the Year, 2x First Team All-Ohio, 2x First Team All-District, 2x All-Metro, and 3x All-Conference. His impact on the field helped elevate the Canal Winchester football program and set a standard for future generations of student-athletes.

While athletics played a major role in his high school years, Darren also valued leadership and service. He was on the Honor Roll, participated in the Superintendent Advisory Group, and was involved in Guys in Ties, demonstrating his commitment to making a positive impact both inside and outside the classroom.

After graduating from Canal Winchester, Darren continued his football career at Heidelberg University, where he earned three varsity letters. The lessons he learned through sports—discipline, perseverance, teamwork, and leadership—have continued to guide him long after his playing days.

Darren is honored to be recognized by the Canal Winchester High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He remains grateful to his coaches, teammates, family, and community members who supported him throughout his journey.

Lonzell D. Feagin, Class of 2017

Lonzell Feagin’s track and field journey is one of determination, excellence, and historic achievement. Throughout his career at Canal Winchester High School, Lonzell established himself as one of Ohio’s premier track and field athletes through years of steady growth and exceptional performances on the state’s biggest stage.

As a sophomore, Lonzell qualified for the Ohio State Track and Field Championships as a member of the 4x400-meter relay team, gaining valuable experience competing against the state’s best. During his junior season, he returned to the state meet after qualifying in both the 400-meter dash and the long jump. He earned a fourth-place finish in the 400 meters, signaling the beginning of what would become one of the most successful track careers in school history.

Lonzell’s senior season in 2017 was nothing short of remarkable. Competing as Canal Winchester High School’s lone representative at the state championships, he captured Ohio State Championships in both the 100-meter and 400-meter races, finished as the state runner-up in the 200 meters, and placed eighth in the long jump. His outstanding performances showcased his versatility and competitive spirit while bringing tremendous pride to Canal Winchester High School.

In addition to his athletic success, Lonzell excelled academically and was a member of the National Honor Society, demonstrating the same dedication in the classroom that he displayed on the track.

Following graduation, Lonzell continued his athletic and academic career at the University of Pittsburgh. There, he earned All-ACC honors four times, achieved All-American status in 2021, and recorded one of the top ten outdoor 400-meter performances in program history. He also received All-ACC Academic recognition while earning a degree in Computing and Information Science.

Lonzell’s accomplishments reflect years of hard work, perseverance, and commitment to excellence. His achievements brought lasting pride to Canal Winchester High School and continue to inspire future generations of student-athletes. It is with great honor that Lonzell Feagin is inducted into the Canal Winchester High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Brady Snyder, Class of 2019

Brady Snyder distinguished himself as one of the most accomplished multi-sport athletes in Canal Winchester High School history, excelling on both the basketball court and the golf course. A four-year varsity basketball letter winner and varsity golfer, Brady consistently demonstrated outstanding leadership, skill, and dedication throughout his high school career.

On the basketball court, Brady emerged as one of the premier players in Central Ohio. As a freshman, he earned his first varsity letter, received Honorable Mention All-OCC Capital honors, and led the team in both scoring and assists. His sophomore season marked the beginning of a remarkable run of accolades as he was named the 270 Hoops Underclassman of the Year, earned First Team All-OCC Capital recognition from both 270 Hoops and the conference, received Honorable Mention All-District honors, and again led the team in points and assists.

Brady continued to elevate his game as a junior, earning First Team All-OCC Capital honors from both 270 Hoops and the OCC, Second Team All-District recognition, and once again leading Canal Winchester in scoring and assists. His senior season solidified his place among the school's all-time greats. He was named the 2019 OCC-Capital Conference Player of the Year, earned First Team All-OCC Capital honors, Second Team All-District recognition, All-Ohio Special Mention, and was selected as a District 10 All-Star. He also received the Central District Coaches Association Scholarship and was recognized as Canal Winchester High School's Scholar Athlete of the Year.

By the conclusion of his outstanding career, Brady had scored 1,367 career points, becoming a member of the prestigious 1,000-Point Club and finishing as the fifth-leading scorer in Canal Winchester High School history. He also established the school record with 12 assists in a single game, showcasing his ability to both score and create opportunities for his teammates.

In addition to his basketball accomplishments, Brady was a varsity letter winner in golf, earning his first varsity letter as a freshman and demonstrating his versatility as a student-athlete.

Following graduation, Brady continued his basketball career at Ohio University-Lancaster, where he again left his mark on the program. He scored more than 1,000 points in just two seasons and ranks among the school's all-time leaders in several statistical categories, including 25th in career scoring, fifth in field goal percentage (59%), seventh in free throw percentage (87%), second in single-season assists, sixth in consecutive free throws made (21), and tenth in single-season three-pointers made (77).

Brady Snyder's remarkable athletic career is a testament to his dedication, competitive spirit, and commitment to excellence. His accomplishments have left a lasting legacy at Canal Winchester High School, making him a truly deserving inductee into the Athletic Hall of Fame.

Kim (Dials) Wirthman, Award of Merit

Kim's impact on Canal Winchester athletics spans more than two decades of dedicated service as a coach, mentor, and athletic department professional. Since moving to Canal Winchester with her family in 1997, she has devoted countless hours to creating opportunities for student-athletes and helping build a culture of excellence that continues to benefit the Canal Winchester community.

In 1998, Kim began her coaching career as the freshman volleyball coach and continued coaching volleyball at multiple levels through 2012 while also coaching club volleyball. She played an instrumental role in growing the sport by helping establish the Canal Winchester recreational volleyball program for third through sixth graders, giving young athletes the opportunity to learn the game before entering middle school. She also created the school's first summer volleyball league, bringing together varsity programs from surrounding communities for offseason competition, and helped organize numerous club volleyball tournaments and summer camps for athletes of all ages. Kim is especially grateful to Coach Ross for welcoming her into such a successful volleyball program and allowing her to contribute to its continued growth.

In 1999, Kim was asked to coach middle school softball. At the time, only slow-pitch softball was offered at the middle school level. Recognizing the need to better prepare athletes for high school competition, she transitioned the program to fast-pitch softball and worked with neighboring schools to establish participation throughout the league. She later expanded her coaching experience by serving alongside her twin sister as a boys tennis coach at Pickerington Central for several spring seasons.

Kim's commitment to Canal Winchester extended beyond coaching. She served as a teacher's aide during the 2006 and 2007 school years before becoming the Athletic Secretary in 2008, a position she held until her retirement in 2024. Throughout her 16 years in the athletic office, she worked alongside Athletic Directors Kent Riggs and Pat Durbin, supporting countless student-athletes, coaches, and athletic programs, and became a trusted and valued member of the Canal Winchester athletic family.

Kim and her husband raised three Canal Winchester graduates, Shawn (Class of 2001), Delilah (Class of 2002), and Alisha (Class of 2004), all of whom had the opportunity to participate in Canal Winchester athletics.

Reflecting on her years of service, Kim is grateful for every opportunity she was given to coach, mentor, and support young people. She treasures the relationships she built with student-athletes, coaches, staff, and parents, as well as the many memorable personalities she encountered throughout her career. While deeply honored to receive the Canal Winchester High School Athletic Hall of Fame Award of Merit, Kim has always believed that the true reward is not recognition but the privilege of serving the students and community she loves. The memories and friendships made along the way will remain with her for a lifetime.
