Principal's Message

A Message from the Principal

Dear WTES Families,

Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year!  Another summer has come and gone again so quickly.  I hope all of you had a relaxing and enjoyable summer.  For those families that are new to the Canal Winchester School District and Winchester Trail Elementary, I would like to welcome you to our fantastic school district and look forward to meeting you in the near future!  We aim to serve you and your family throughout the school year.

Mrs. Fries and I are excited to begin our fourth year together as the administrators of Winchester Trail Elementary. We, along with the amazing staff at Winchester Trail, look forward to continuing to build those positive relationships that are vital to student success, growth, and achievement.  We are going to invest in your child and we are hopeful that you will partner with us in this endeavor.

At Winchester Trail, we pride ourselves on connecting with, and getting to know the students on a personal level. This enables each staff member to personalize the students' learning and meet the educational needs of each and every student. We believe that a strong relationship, built on trust between student and teacher, can lead to significant student learning as well as academic gains!

We continue to be committed to the Mission Statement of "Empowering All Students for Success".  We will work to provide the best education possible for your child.  One of the platforms we will use to meet the whole child is the program called, Leader in Me.  We will work and collaborate to meet the needs of all students.

We will strive for success as we let the Portrait of a Graduate and the Leader in Me platforms guide our way.  The Portrait of a Graduate consists of: Respectful Citizens, Responsible Learners, Self Aware Individuals, Problem Solvers, Communicators, and Collaborators.  The Leader in Me focuses on the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People: Be Proactive, Begin with the End in Mind, Put First Things First, Think Win-Win, Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood, Synergize, and Sharpen the Saw.

I look forward to meeting you and partnering with you as we support your child’s academic and overall growth at Winchester Trail Elementary.

Respectfully,

Max Lallathin, Principal WTES
