This includes students who are advancing from grade to grade; enrolled by their parents in private elementary or secondary schools, including religious schools, located in our District; wards of the state and children who are highly mobile, such as migrant and homeless children; and whom are home-schooled.
- If you know of a child with a disability, or have a child suspected of having a disability, who is not currently receiving appropriate educational or related services, please contact the Special Services office at (614) 920-2689.
For eligible students, special education services are provided in accordance with Ohio’s Operating Standards for the Education of Children with Disabilities and the Special Education Model Policies and Procedures. Services are provided along a continuum of setting options aimed at keeping students in their Least Restrictive Environment, or in the regular classroom environment to the maximum extent possible. Services are written into an Individualized Education Program (IEP) which is reviewed annually. Any related services the student requires such as Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, Nursing Services, Transportation, Counseling, and Physical Therapy are incorporated into the IEP.
