At the July 19th Board of Education Superintendent Mr. Sotlar announced that the Canal Winchester School District AT THIS TIME would not require masks for the school year, including busing.  Staff and students are more than welcome to wear masks if they choose.  This statement is with the knowledge that if any local, state or federal mandate or requirement is handed down the school district will follow those mandates.  Over the past 18 months we have all learned it is difficult to predict the future.  The district is continuing to keep cleaning and disinfecting practices in place.  Returning to a normal school year with all students in attendance will be a challenge, but continuing to keep safe distance where and when possible will continue.  These practices will vary by building.  The district does anticipate more announcements from the state regarding the school year in the near future.

Dear ITES Families,

Welcome to the 2021-22 school year!  Summer has come and gone again, and I hope all of you had a relaxing and enjoyable summer break.  For those families that are new to the Canal Winchester School District and Indian Trail Elementary, I would like to welcome you to our fantastic school district and look forward to meeting you in the near future!

Mrs. Cobb and I are excited to begin our sixth year as the administrators of Indian Trail Elementary. We, along with the amazing staff at Indian Trail, look forward to building those positive relationships that are vital to student success, growth, and achievement.  At Indian Trail, we pride ourselves on connecting with, and getting to know, the students on a personal level.  This enables each staff member to personalize the students' learning and meet the educational needs of each student.  Last year was a challenging year for teachers, students, and parents, but we persevered by working together. We believe that a strong relationship, built on trust between student and teacher, can lead to significant student learning!

We continue to be committed to the Mission Statement of "Empowering All Students for Success".   For the staff, this means understanding the individual needs of each student and supporting them at that level.

As we strive for success, our staff will be implementing the pillars of the Portrait of a Graduate to guide our way.  The pillars of the Portrait of a Graduate consist of:  Respectful Citizens, Responsible Learners, Self-Aware Individuals, Problem Solvers, Communicators, and Collaborators.

I am very excited for another fantastic school year at Indian Trail Elementary, and look forward to partnering with you during your child's educational journey.

Sincerely,

Eric Riddle

Principal
