A Message from the Principal
2011-12 School Year

Greetings, and welcome to Winchester Trail. Our building serves children in grades three through five. Students in this age-range are at a developmental stage where they begin to think and learn on their own. Teachers and staff work to develop this independent learning, but this task is accomplished in a loving atmosphere that makes children feel safe and welcomed. Approved courses of study and state learning outcomes serve as the core curriculum.

As your child grows, it will be increasingly important to maintain communication between the school and home.  Anytime you feel a problem or concern exists after an initial conversation with a teacher, feel free to contact us. Consistent communication makes it more likely that your child’s school experience will be successful.

Parents are always welcome in our building.  For classroom visits, we ask that you communicate with your child’s teacher or the office prior to the visit, so that we can make sure your stay is productive.   If you wish to volunteer, we have a variety of ways to help, ranging from reading to a child, working with a group in math, or completing copying and other clerical/instructional tasks. By working together, we will strengthen our school and improve your child’s experience.

We are looking forward to working together.

Sincerely,

Mr. Bill Whitlatch and Dr. Mike Brunning
